Abstracts Featured at ARVO are Available on VisionWeb

Researchers in eye diseases are expanding the uses and potential of a host of different concepts. At the annual ARVO meeting, thousands of abstracts were on display on a wide variety of topics. The staffs of the Review of Optometry and the Review of Ophthalmology highlighted those abstracts that may have the most clinical applicability, noteworthiness or potential for significant impact on your patients. The abstracts are edited for space so if you're looking for more information on a specific report, you can find it at arvo.org. Here are the four areas you’ll find on VisionWeb:

CORNEA: This year, research pertaining to the cornea focuses on infection control, contact lens care and dry eye management. The findings aim to demonstrate effective treatment methods, infection prevention techniques, and a further understanding of genetic disease.

GLAUCOMA: From progression to vascular risk factors, this year's ARVO presentations on glaucoma will lead to better care for patients.

CATARACT & REFRACTIVE SURGERY: Researchers present new laser techniques, findings on cataract risk reduction and new insights into post-op care.

RETINA: AMD treatment, novel imaging techniques and nutraceuticals were on the agenda at this year's ARVO meeting.
